This is a 4- part series of heated Hatha and Yin classes, accessible to all levels. The Hatha classes will be 60 minutes and designed to cultivate deep stretching, strengthening, and balance. The Yin classes will be 75 minutes and focus on unwinding and allowing the muscles and deep tissues to soften and open more easefully with the heat. Both classes will be intended to calm the mind and reduce stress.
While all of these benefits of hot Hatha or Yin are great for the body and mind, the main purpose of practicing yoga in a heated environment is to learn to regulate your nervous system response. With a safe heat stimulus (35 degrees Celsius) students will be guided through breath and postures to calm the sympathetic nervous system response (flight or fight) and ground into a nourishing and calm parasympathetic nervous system response (rest and digest).
