Breath-work is the foundation of any physical yoga practice. Not only does the breath support and guide the body into movement but, when harnessed properly, it is the gateway to deepening each posture and allowing practitioners to access new layers of experience.
This workshop will give students a thorough understanding of the ujjayi pranayama technique and how to integrate the ujjayi breath into vinyasa and static postures. By slowing down and going over these foundations, familiar postures take on a new perspective, the mind becomes more steady and students become more alert within their yoga practice.
This class is suitable for beginners and advanced students alike; there’s always more to discover within the breath! Students are encouraged to also sign up for the corresponding Primary Series Led Class on Saturday February 17th, an opportunity to apply the teachings from this workshop into a full practice.
